Tailwind Associates, an EOE, has a contract-to-hire opportunity with our client in Albany, NY for a EAS Manager

The Manager, EAS is responsible for providing direction and coordinating the efforts of the Developers, Analysts and QA Testers who are responsible for the analysis, development, maintenance and enhancement of client's applications and automated business processes.

This individual is responsible for providing technical guidance to the team, as well as proposing and implementing strategies that will integrate efficiently with other internal systems and their associated processes. The Manager will also be responsible for working with senior members of leadership teams to establish standards, architecture, processes and establishing required support tools to ensure compliance as it relates to IT. Included in the scope of responsibility are test environment management, test tool management, metrics, reporting, standards, processes, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

The individual's responsibility also includes analyzing the business process in place, performing feasibility studies, return of investment analysis and identifying the process candidates for automation.

The Manager, EAS collaborates with company customers, staff, colleagues and other stakeholders to analyze requirements and system interfaces, assess available technologies, develop and present solutions.

  • Bachelor's degree required. 7 years relevant experience may be substituted for degree.
  • Degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent work experience with a focus on Application Management, Application Configuration and/or, Application Development required.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years system and business analysis experience that includes: evaluation of business procedures and problems, feasibility studies, system development and configuration, application design, preparing detailed specifications for the development of business applications and testing is required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years' experience in testing complex applications with an understanding of functional, integration, system, and regression testing required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years' experience in application development and SDLC required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years experience using SQL and Java scripting.
  • 3 years of previous leadership experience required.
  • Experience managing and leading off-shore teams is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with System Development Life Cycle required. Agile experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of software testing principles and practices required.
  • Testing techniques, automate software testing, performance testing and testing methodologies required.
  • Knowledge of test-driven development preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, identify, implement and monitor outcomes required.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and shift priorities to meet project schedules.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work with a development team in defining system implementation, conversion and configuration strategy
  • Organizational skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify weaknesses in workflow and develop and implement process improvements to continually insure that corporate goals are satisfied is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a productive team player
  • Strong leadership and project management skills required.
  • Hands-on experience using core technologies deployed in the applications.
  • Knowledge of software testing principles and practices required.
  • Strong analytical ability, and proven skills to conduct root cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with source/document control programs.
  • Working knowledge of SOA preferred.
