Job Description:
The PACS Administrator provides onsite and remote support for all PACS-like systems. The PACS Administrator will take ownership of all PACS related issues regardless of escalation path and work to resolution utilizing all skills, experience, training, documentation and resources at their disposal. The PACS Administrator escalates and notifies employees and management appropriately according to documented standard operating procedures. The PACS Administrator is responsible for an exemplary customer service experience for all PACS users. The PACS Administrator acts as a liaison between the customer and Information Services (IS) to resolve any issue that is reported. The PACS Administrator will fulfill any project-based or new request for services that are assigned to them within agreed upon timelines.

Mandatory Requirements:
  • Minimum of an Associate's degree, preferably in a math, science, or technology related field of study.
  • Five to nine years of experience.
  • Knowledge of installations, upgrades, testing, and/or support requests for PACS related hardware, systems and applications with little direction needed from senior leadership. Ability to diagnose PACS system or component issues and actively take the lead with other support groups to remediate. In depth knowledge of how PACS systems integrate with other IT systems, PACS systems, and other technologies. Knowledge of functional customization of PACS system filters, hanging protocols, and installation of plugins.
  • Ability to apply application and system documentation to a scenario to troubleshoot and resolve a reported issue, and to determine when new issues arise and escalate them appropriately. Ability to communicate and participate in ad-hoc and non-standard requests. Ability to manage small to moderately complex PACS related upgrades, updates and projects.
  • Ability to incorporate proper customer service standards into daily workflow.
  • Ability to exceed the standard in all verbal and written interactions. Ability to document issues and escalate/notify others, including IS management, according to documented process. Ability to act as a liaison between customers, vendors and IS.
  • Ability to adhere to documented process and documentation, and utilize knowledge, experience, and training to resolve issues that are not documented.
  • Ability to effectively recommend, document, communicate, implement, and sustain improvements in processes, procedures, and operations within the IS leadership and organization.
  • Demonstrated support experience and knowledge of PACS, radiology information system (RIS) and imaging systems and how they integrate with other IT systems and technologies, Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Active Directory, business applications and computer hardware.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, healthcare, or financial and billing processes is a plus.
